R3 Printing started with a problem everyone saw but no one recognized. Paul and Petra were running a 3D printing service when they hit a wall: scaling with the existing technology simply wasn't possible. Desktop printers were unreliable and labor-intensive, while enterprise systems were designed and priced for a world that shut out the businesses they were claiming to serve. Over the years, the industry focused on what was easiest to market instead of what was hardest to solve — leaving the real barriers in plain sight.

So they decided to build what was needed: an American-made, automated 3D printer designed by a power user and built around the customer — high performance, low friction, and ready for real production.

After years of development, iteration, and relentless problem-solving, R3 Printer is no longer a concept — it's production-ready and built for the people who need it most. What began as a necessity has become a commitment: empowering our customers with the freedom, efficiency, and reliability that the next generation of manufacturing demands.

Prior to co-founding R3 Printing, Paul drove automation initiatives such as developing systems that supported over $80M in monthly transactions at Morgan Stanley and architecting a firm-wide overhaul of automated alerting capabilities at the world's largest hedge fund. With a degree from Fordham and Mechanical Engineering studies from Columbia, Paul is the inventor behind the patented technologies that power R3 Printer.

An honors graduate of NYU with a global background spanning Switzerland, Spain, Australia, and China, Petra now leads R3 Printing’s growth strategy.

Prior to joining R3 Printing, Alex brought his mechanical engineering expertise to large established companies such as Enercon Technologies and fast-moving startups including Ophthorobotics AG and Activ Surgical, working across the full engineering cycle—from early concept validation to late-stage manufacturing optimization—in the consumer products, surgical robotics, and medical device industries. With a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University, he now leads mechanical engineering at R3 Printing.
